Cheese SlicerPosted on April 15, 2010. What is the best cheese-slicing? We buy blocks of 8 ounces of cheese (Munster, mild cheddar, Swiss ....) We bought several slicers with thin wire but still thread breaks or the roll of wire next to that. I tried another very expensive didn't have cable, but the cheese sticks to the blade. We tried the cheese at room temperature and the right of the refrigerator, but get the same results. I "ve used those too and I ended up pairing with a knife. Just off the cottage cheese, sometimes it helps if you use a hot knife (dipped in hot water Blade scratched, and cut the cheese.) .. I found a cheese cutter marble slab with a wire handle and attached, but I have not had time to try it, so I do not know if it works well or not .. The "best" could be worse. When purchasing these types of items, make sure you did see it before buying it. Look for it to be really strong and cut itself is thick. I mean thick, is that it is a solid construction, the metal is thick and durable. You can literally crush the slicer and bang it around and nothing will happen to him. It can not be held, by weight, because it means it will be easy to break. Sometimes when you spend more, you get more and waste less money in the long term. in my class, we all culinary portion of our cheese with a paring knife.
