In a word - no. And a major reason sugar -.
Unfortunately, this is one of many foods (granola) in our society that has been oversold on its health benefits. Granola bars to this category and most are essentially no better for you than a chocolate bar. So take that in a bit more detail ...
The third ingredient on the list is ... sugar. Imagine if most of the recipes you've had homemade sugar because it is the third ingredient, things like cakes, cookies and pies come to mind! I think we can accept what are * not * conducive to weight loss.
Sugar is here 18 grams of an 55 gram serving. This means that everything * * third of the food is sugar - a huge sum! There are very few foods that you eat that could be * worse for weight loss in my opinion.
So why sugar is so bad? Some basic principles on how your body uses energy from food. Almost all the food we eat is converted into something called glucose - that's what our cells use to power themselves. Basically, our bodies are large plants convert carbohydrates into glucose. It turns out that sugar is very close to the molecular level, and it is * very * quickly converted into glucose, in fact, generally faster than we can use it (unless you run a marathon or something!). But our bodies (as they are intelligent) do not like things to lose, so it is stored for later use as .... you guessed it ... fat! Pop, for example, contains no fat, but it contains much sugar. I guarantee you that if you drink lots of sugary drinks you will almost certainly grow.
You have heard the woodpecker "Sugar"? That's because our bodies get more glucose, then they know what to do with and this is not good. repeated sugar spikes have been linked to development of diabetes which has become almost epidemic in North America because of our diet high in sugar.
While high sugar content is almost synonymous with high fat content. So beware of labels that claim "low fat", but have high sugar, because these sugar molecules are just a short journey through our system to become big.
However, there are more healthy muesli that there, as the "Bear Naked" brand and many others. And so you do not try to Quaker, if you want a good breakfast, I highly recommend Quaker Oat meal and plain * not * the instant kind with sugar. Buy Fast or slow cooking oats * * ordinary. * * They have zero sugar, are slow to digest (So.
