cranberry syrup? I try to transform leftover cranberry sauce house in a syrup for pancakes. Is this possible? If yes, how?
My suggestion would be to mash the cranberry sauce. If it is too thick for syrup, making a simple sugar syrup with equal parts water and add a little at a time in cranberry sauce until it reaches the desired consistency for syrup and cranberry.
Good luck!
I've never done but you can try this:
Easy Cranberry Syrup
Try this syrup from fruit large dried cranberries. It's great on ice cream or pancakes. It even works as a sauce on roast turkey. Best of all, it is easy and almost foolproof to make. And you can have these cranberry free with your purchase. Click here to see.
1 cup dried cranberries (3.5 oz)
1 cup hot water
1 tablespoon cornstarch (actually a thick syrup sauce. For a thin syrup, use 1 / 2 tbsp)
1 / 2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
In a medium microwave safe bowl, combine cranberries and hot water. Cover and cook over high heat in the microwave for two minutes. Remove the bowl and let the berries steep for ten minutes.
Use a blender to puree the food of the bay and water mixture. The mixture should resemble a thick juice.
Place the cornstarch in a small saucepan. Add two or three tablespoons of fruit puree to saucepan and stir to make a slurry of cornstarch. No pieces should remain. Add remaining fruit mixture, sugar and lemon and stir.
Heat the syrup in a medium frame until the mixture begins to bubble and the syrup thickens, stirring to prevent burning liquid. Remove from the heat and let cool. The syrup will become thicker as it cools. It's been about 12 ounces of syrup.
I make a syrup by boiling together 1 medium 1/2C. sugar and 2 C. water, stirring until sugar is dissolved, and to cook until thickened (about 8 minutes here). Can I pour the syrup over the leftover sauce (usually about 1C. Or almost), mix well until smooth, cool and pour into a jar and watch store in the refrigerator. Think it well over waffles, pancakes with ice cream, a little sprinkled on a slice of chocolate cake without icing pound cake, stale (day) to angels is sliced and grilled ....
