Posted on April 8, 2010.
Dried Soya MilkFood and beverages are soy really good for us?

For several years now soy products and soy have become very popular. Many people are vegetarians who use soy instead of meat, and people who are lactose intolerant to drink soy milk as a substitute for cow's milk. Soy has been so deeply ingrained in our lifestyle, but it is really good for us? Recent reports seem to say that soy is not.

Not too long ago, several centuries, the soybean is not considered a food source, and it is amazing how modern propaganda could push this product into the spotlight. It took until the 2nd century in China Chou dynasty that fermentation of soybean a viable option for human consumption. Up to this point, it was mainly used in crop rotation to moderate nitrogen levels in soil.

The unfermented soybeans, have never eaten because they contained high levels of natural toxins that have blocked the digestion. Many of these toxins can not be deleted, even through the kitchen. Soy has been shown that severe stomach upset and reduce the protein needed for proper digestion and may also cause cancer.

A closer look shows that the soy product is 99% genetically modified. There are more pesticides in soybeans than any other food product in the world today. There have been other studies that show vegetarians who regularly eat soy products pose a risk of serious deficiencies in calcium, magnesium and iron.

Soybean farmers are still trying to figure out how to get these "anti nutrients" soy and make it "more user friendly. One method involves mixing soybeans with alkali to remove the fiber. The process takes place in vats large aluminum case of aluminum has a chance to infiltrate and soybeans. After this process, the curds are spray dried at high temperatures to produce textured vegetable protein (TVP).

Although many studies have shown soy to have caused poor results in animals that have consumed the product, the soybean industry has not dropped its efforts to market to the public. school meals, commercial bakery products and fast food are all in them and soybeans are consumed in large quantities every day. You should know that something is seriously wrong when, in 1913, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) soybean listed as an industrial product and not as food.

There was a time when soybean was not selling as much as the soy industry would have hoped, if they changed their marketing tactics. Instead of targeting people who might live in poor areas, they changed their views on current and people with money. Soy has become the next fad in a long line of "food miracles" and the audience literally eaten. Apparently, it works and it is frightening.
