Casseroles to the Rescue. Pots are cheap to produce, the more power, and they are comfort foods. Here is a variety of old-fashioned casserole recipes for you to choose. Try our beef and rice-hot dishes, Noodle Casserole Turkey, or Tamale Pie. Certainly we can be a great success with your family.



AND rice hot dish of beef



1 lb Hamburger meat
1 med onion, chopped
1 / 2 cup chopped green pepper
1 / 2 c. salt
pinch pepper
1 1 / 2 cups uncooked instant rice
1 can (14 1 / 2 oz) stewed tomatoes
1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
1 1 / 2 cups hot water
1 tsp teaspoon prepared mustard



In a large skillet, chopped Brown meat and drain. Add onion, green pepper, salt and pepper to skillet and cook over medium heat until vegetables are tender. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Serves 4.



TURKEY NOODLE CASSEROLE



2 cups cooked and drained noodles
1 tsp tablespoons margarine, melted
5 c. tablespoons grated Parmesan
4-5 slices cooked turkey
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Combine noodles, margarine and half the Parmesan cheese. Pour into a buttered gratin dish. Top mixture with sliced turkey. In a saucepan, heat milk and cheddar cheese until cheese is melted. Pour over top of turkey and remaining Parmesan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.



TAMALE PIE



2 lb. ground meat
2 medium onions, chopped
1 tsp tablespoon chili powder
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 cup vegetable oil
2 v. teaspoon red pepper
1 1 / 2 tsp teaspoon salt
1 can whole kernel corn
1 can diced tomatoes
Two cups of cornmeal
1 cup milk
3 eggs



In a large skillet, return the ground beef in oil with onions, chili powder, paprika, pepper and salt. Do not drain. When meat is brown, add the corn and tomatoes. In a large bowl, combine cornmeal, milk and eggs. Add mixture to skillet and mix well. Bake in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan for 30 minutes or until done at 375 degrees.
