Water does not sterilize the powder. As long as you sterilize your bottles and powder pots you'll be great. I use these everyday and my baby is perfect. I make up bottles night and put them in his diaper bag for the next day. I, m back to work and take baby with me. So tonight I sterilize the bottles and jars, then pour in boiling water and cooled, then place the pots filled with powder in the bottle and we're ready to go. I think they are the life savers, they are so handy and the best way to take food everywhere. My baby takes the bottle at room temperature if I do not need to do something else after mixing the feed.

Not sure of the Tommee Tippee one, but I have used the ADVENT and which comprises three sections, thus 3 son. I would like to sterilized water in the bottle, then heat the bottle when I needed it and added the formula. If I didn't have access to a microwave, I would fill a thermos of boiled water and a container, I float the bottle in.
