Yogurt milk and cheese group Food Guide Yogurt milk and cheese group Food Guide
I do not know about you, but I grew up drinking lots of milk, and it was always whole milk. This is great for children because they can burn extra calories and needed vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats and even the milk and dairy products offer. But as adults, we do not have the same needs.
Milk and dairy products are excellent sources of calcium and other minerals, many B vitamins, and milk is often fortified with vitamins A and D, we must not ignore this group. Calcium is a key element to help prevent osteoporosis, while vitamin D is needed for calcium to be absorbed properly. Menopausal women are especially prone to osteoporosis and calcium loss. Dairy products are also good sources of complete protein.
The problem with this group of foods is that it is often accompanied by a large entourage of fat! And most adults do not need this kind of entourage of drag! Choose to eat low fat such as skim milk or low fat milk, low fat cheeses, yogurt and fat free.
My recommendation is to include this group of foods in a balanced diet, but try to wean the high fat choices. Choose skim or low-fat milk, low fat cheese, and nonfat yogurt.
The Food Guide Pyramid
You can tell yourself, "The Food Guide Pyramid Group - how boring!" Attach your shorts, my friends, I'll share a little, but very important, a secret. The food pyramid is the best guide to achieving healthy eating habits long term. There is no fad diet to lose weight or to achieve better health. This is not to eat a truckload of grapefruit, beef carcasses, or even forty acres of vegetables.
For most of you, a balanced diet that includes a variety of nutritious foods in moderation is the best and most healthy weight loss. The Food Guide Pyramid may be right for you - a guide. It makes life easy for you, because it does not exclude all types of food and daily serving recommendations means "average." It is flexible and not an absolute formula. Eating a variety of healthy foods, you will ensure a balanced diet and you will be filled and satisfied by food.
I do not know about you, but I'm really sick of any regime that does not allow me to eat one type of food - or very little? Any plan must be flexible and broad enough to be healthy and interesting - if you can happily follow for the long term. So really this is not a diet but a change of lifestyle. And the habit of creating a healthy lifestyle is what this article is all about. The food pyramid can help you.
