Does anyone have a bar recipe oatmeal that is not sweet? All recio oatmeal breakfast bar I've seen are mild. I am trying to find something tasty - unsweetened - the local diabetic. Thank you.
My husband is diabetic type 2. Here are some recipes I found. I hope they are what you need.
Title: Chewy Oatmeal Raisin
Categories: cookies diabetic
Yield: 32 bars
3 / 4 c Packed Brown Splenda
4 TB margarine, softened
2 egg whites
2 ts Vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 / 4 ts Salt (optional)
1 c Raisins
1 / 2 C splenda
3 / 4 c applesauce or Applebutter
2TB skim milk
1 1 / 2 c all purpose flour
1 ts Cinnamon
3 c Oats (quick or old-fashioned
Uncooked)
Preheat oven to 350 ~. Beat together margarine and Splenda
until smooth. Add apple butter, egg whites, milk,
and vanilla and beat well. Add flour, baking
soda, cinnamon and salt and mix well. Stir in oats and
raisins and mix well. (Dough will be moist.) Variance
greased cookie dough in 13-pam-9-inch. Bake for 25
30 minutes or until light brown. Allow to cool before
cut into bars.

1 / 3 c Splenda, ground nutmeg 1 / 4 ts;
1 / 2 C. Vegetable oil, cinnamon powder 1 1 / 2 ts;
1 egg, ground cloves 1 / 4 ts;
1 c; cooked or canned pumpkin 1 / 2 C orange juice;
1 1 / 2 c whole wheat flour, 1 / 2 c walnuts, chopped
3 ts baking powder; Raisins 1 / 2 C;
1 / 2 ts baking soda 1 / 4 c Coconut;
Beat together sugar, oil, eggs and pumpkin until light and
fluffy. Stir in dry ingredients and orange juice. Add nuts
and raisins. Stir to mix well.
Pour into a lightly greased 13 by 9 inch baking. Sprinkle on the coconut. Bake at 350 F oven for 25-30 min. Cool pan completely on a rack for 5 minutes. Cut into bars.

"These power bars are delicious and much more nutritious than most granola bars. They are very filling, too. Instead of using dried mixed fruit, do not hesitate to replace one of your favorite dried fruit . Go along for the nuts.
INGREDIENTS
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 / 2 cup whole wheat flour
1 / 2 cup wheat and barley nugget cereal (eg Grapenuts TM)
1 / 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg beaten
1 / 4 cup applesauce
1 / 4 cup honey
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 / 4 cup unsalted sunflower seeds
1 / 4 cup chopped walnuts
1 (7 oz) bag of mixed dried fruit chopped
MODE
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Line 9-inch baking pan with aluminum foil square. Spray the foil with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, cereal and cinnamon. Add egg, applesauce, honey, brown sugar and oil. Mix well. Add sunflower seeds, nuts and dried fruits. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
Bake 30 minutes or until firm and lightly browned on edges. Cool. Use the grid to remove from the pan. Cut into bars or squares and store in refrigerator.
