Poppy Seed Loaf

I want to make lemon poppy seed bread. I'm in the UK and I am unable to find black poppy seeds in any of my local grocery stores. (None of my friends have even heard of poppy seed bread), I bought white poppy seeds, but they seem to be used more in savory / spicy dishes such as Indian food. I do not know if they will work in the bread with poppy seeds.

Has anyone replaced by black poppy seeds? T-it taste ok? (Too bad it will not be as good!)

Obviously they will not look the same as the black seeds of poppy, but you can indeed use them as a substitute:)

Yes, you can use ..... yes it taste OK. I prefer whites, they have always proved very good.
