Powdered MilkCanned tuna, milk powder reads: Interview with Brad Thor

Way back at the end of February, your servant has brought you a first glimpse of the world's best-selling author Brad Thor book jacket new thriller. And now because I know that my audience would never warned judge a book by its cover I bring you the first interview with Brad Thor about his latest book Takedown!

But first, let me say the truth: I am a big fan of Brad Thor previous books, but then again I'm biased because I'm American and not supporting terrorism against my country. If this describes you, then I'm pretty sure you will also become a fan of the work of M. Le Thor.

Everything indicates that Takedown, a thriller starring fifth hard-as-nails and sarcastic-as-Blogstein fight against terrorism operative Scot Harvath, will read hot this summer. You know, the only book you see any other person on the beach reading?

So my advice to you is to take it early on so you can take credit for the find - at least that's what I intend to do.

The book comes out May 30 but I just pre-order on Amazon.com

Now, without Freddy Adu, we welcome Brad Thor ...

Dr. Blogstein: Hi Brad, is a real honor to have one of my favorite authors visiting the pages of Dr. Blogstein.

Brad Thor: It's my pleasure, Dr B. Thank you for inviting me.

Mr B: If you had two or three sentences to convince me to read Takedown, how about you?

BT: I know where you live, what kind of car you drive and you get your shirts laundered. Read it or I'll be in touch.

But if you're not the kind that tilts to the bullying little, then I would say - this book is a thrill ride white-knuckle. It is easily my best work to date. The track is a razor, the chapters are fast as hell, the action never stops and the characters are based on real people who are out there kicking ass and taking names on a link a daily basis.

Mr. B: Brad, you had me at "shirts laundered."

According to the description of your book on Amazon.com, terrorists attacked New York and "all bridges and tunnels leading into and out of Manhattan are destroyed." Then something like this really happened in New York?

BT: If someone is willing to throw enough manpower at it, you can bet it could.

Mr. B: The answer I was looking for "no". Dude, you're scaring me.

In your expert opinion, is a terror similar to what you write in Takedown imminent? If yes, can you tell me when to get out of here?

BT: Funny you should ask. My wife jokes that I have a weird sort of ability to see into the future and write about events before they occur. I hope this is not the case in New York, but what is interesting is that Takedown is actually based on a very scary guy hiding two days before the Sept. 11 attacks. Not much scares me, but this man is something to be seriously afraid. In my endless quest for a fatwa against me, I used the real name of the guy in the book - and made him a pedophile to boot. As I have almost finished the novel, the CIA launched a missile strike in Pakistan and nailed a bunch of bad guys. Supposedly, my boy was among them, so I decided to give the character a fictional name. Two days ago a friend of mine called and said Intel that scary guy is not dead and had managed to escape. I hope I'm wrong, but if I were you, Dr. B - I make sure I had a lot of canned tuna and powdered milk under the bed. And while you're there, keep that plastic sheeting and duct tape handy too.

Mr. B: Ummm, I could use that plastic sheeting for my desk chair before you answer that question, if you know what I mean.

Are you ever afraid that you give terrorists ideas?

BT: With all the work I put in my n.
