Probiotic Yogurt BrandsPosted on March 16, 2010. Live yogurt culture mixture in milk reduce the effectiveness of probiotics? My 4 year old son is on antibiotics. He only likes Yoplait yogurts, but I want him to eat the stuff out there that is really full of live cultures, as Activa. The only way I can get him to eat other brands is to make the yogurt smoothies with milk and chocolate syrup. Is this cons-productive? Things like yogurt and Activa does not guarantee that live microflora reaching the intestines to live, but simply that they were alive at the time of manufacture - many are killed by our stomach acids or no longer living at the time of purchase. It is well documented. What you do is not a problem. These bacteria are strains of acidophilils. The name means love acid, these little buggers will have no problem going through the stomach into the intestines. Heck that is how they got there first, we eat them. Continue to do this, it is good for your son with intestinal a good source of calcium. CommentsThere are no comments.Leave a Comment | Popular Posts My Friends |
