Why do we recycle our pots of yogurt? that is bad for environment. we can recycle the rest!? yoghurt pots arent howcomes more recyclable?
I know there are two types of plastic (thermoset and other things). Has something to do with it?
why isn't the government doing something to enforce a kind of law?
it's bad for the environment if we continue to throw pots yogurt garbage instead of recycling
Probably because it is a plastic # 5. In most places # 1 and # 2 plastics are recycled. The mixture of plastic materials (contamination) lowers the value and usefulness of the recycled product. different plastics are used for different purposes depending on their properties. If you do not sort your recycled by the guidelines of your recycling center you would do the industry a favor by not recycle at all. Just a small AMOUT contamination to a potentially unusable recyclable material must be disposed of in a landfill.
If your ready to watch a little more difficult, most things can be recycled. It may not be as convenient as the local recycling center. Jump to www.earth911.com and you can punch in what you want to recycle. It can give you recycle in your area. It is possibe there's nobody within a reasonable distance to recycle what you have.
Go to http://www.terracycle.net/index.htm they pay you for your pot of yoghurt Flag
I do not really think they can disintegrate in the Earth, or at least I do not think.
But there are many other ways to reuse. Use them for a few extra tools, such as nuts, bolts and nails. reuse them for storing food later, if you have any leftovers. If you decide to take as a hamster, you could cut that in half and put water in it a dish of water. Or better yet, cut the bottom of the cup and put a little earth / land and planting pretty flowers! I've even seen people use these small cars that can be drawn around children and those old bikes in the front basket with flowers that grow there. These are some good ideas to reuse the yogurt. Also, if you have buckets or old bikes, as I said, put a little earth / ground and plant something!
I hope this helped you =]
And why have not you written for manufacturers of yogurt?
Certain foods are more aggressive, and I guess the fruit in yogurt may need a pot that will result in stratified types of mixed plastic into chips and melted. Low in plastics can be recycled - plastic control posts for street name signs (United Kingdom). But I suppose that the supply far exceeds demand.
Since you seem to love yogurt so much, why not do it yourself?
You can reuse them for all sorts of things. They are large containers for nails, screws, bolts, etc., of jewelry making supplies, rubber bands office supplies. Just use them again and again. It does not take a genius.
But I do,
I keep all the pots of yoghurt
freeze the leftovers in dishes,
for rainy days
