Anyone have a good waffle batter recipe for traditional wrought iron waffle makers? Again - not Belgian waffles, but nature does on a traditional Griswold No. 9 Wrought Iron Waffle.
I finally found my mother, but we ccouldn'tfind the cookbook she made her waffle batter.
very light waffles Aunt May
2 1 / 2 tsp soy milk or water
2 v. regular oats
2 tablespoons. sesame seeds
2 tablespoons. whole grain flour
2 v. tea. liquid or granular lecithin
3 / 4 c. tea. salt
2 v. tea. vanilla, maple or lemon extract
2 tablespoons. 3 tablespoons of honey. apple juice concentrate or 1 / 4 c. raisins or dates
Mix all ingredients until creamy. Pour batter into a bowl. Prepare waffle iron lightly brushing with oil mixture of lecithin. Close lid and preheat on high 5-8 minutes. When waffle iron is hot, sprinkle with sesame seeds on the bottom for easy removal and flaor strengthened. Pour 1 tablespoon and 3 / 4 of dough on the seeds and sprinkle over seeds over the dough. Close cover and cook 10-12 minutes. Cool waffle. Before freezing, or stacking up saran wrap or waxed paper between waffles.

Yummy Waffles. Filled with blueberry sauce Maple and a little whipped topping they are good enough to be dessert and breakfast!

Ingredients Belgian waffle batter
2 1 / 2 cup sifted all-purpose flour 3 large eggs
4 c. tablespoons sugar 2 cups milk 2%
2 v. teaspoon baking powder 1 / 2 cup vegetable oil
1 / 2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon tsp vanilla extract
Instructions for the Belgian waffle batter
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In a bowl, beat egg yolks, add milk and vegetable oil, stir, then add dry ingredients to dry.
In a small bowl, beat the egg whites into a lather and gently add them to your preparation. Your dough is ready. Cook your waffles by following the instructions for your waffle iron.
Serve the waffles warm immediately after cooking with butter, syrup, honey or jam, top with fresh fruit or try with Maple Blueberry Sauce. Delicious.
They are iron .. not wrought with all proceeds of the paste should work perfectly. You'll want to wash and iron to dry, then season before re-use. Oil-well before each use.
