My rat continues to sneeze constantly. I'm afraid. What should I do? Well, my little eight weeks old rats that I had about 2-3 weeks ago continues to sneeze incessantly. I have absolutely no idea what to do!
I use Kaytee Total Comfort Bedding, Kaytee Forti-Diet Health Pro Mouse, Rat & Hamster Vitakraft Drops Food and yogurt as a snack for hamsters. I know that drops of yogurt are hamsters, pet but the lady said she fed her rat these ...

CORN! The strange thing is, my sister all uses of the substance for his rat (his other death, but we were using all different stuff. Different bedding, food and snacks.) And she did not sneeze. Only my rats.
I was a bit sick for some time, sneezing, upset stomach, headaches. Do you think this is part of the reason?
Thank you!
Kaley-rats and sneezing:)
It is almost certain that your rats are symptomatic of a disease called mycoplasma. Mycoplasma is a virus that all domestic rats (except for laboratory rats offered by race or rats rendered by caesarean) have. Many rats are like your sister and live a long and happy life without showing symptoms. The rats whose immune system is compromised for any reason (breadcrumbs, stress) may become symptomatic. rat sneezes often symptomatic and may porphyrin stain more than other rats. Their coats can also appear more dull, the eyes may be more dull and they may have a loss of energy. Finally, these rats typically develop symptoms of secondary infection in which another type of bacteria attacks the lungs and nasal cavities and can die from this situation.
The good news is that most rats myco symptoms can lead a normal life if treated properly and kept in a clean, stress free, loving home.
The key is to work with a veterinarian to treat rats with antibiotics if the symptoms become constant or severe. Treatment should include a system of 21-30 days of antibiotics the first one to two times the rat fell ill. After that, if the rat relapse treatment or pulse long-term treatment is recommended. Drugs that are commonly used Baytril and doxycycline. You can find information on the doses here: http://ratguide.com/meds/antimicrobial_a ... and here ... http://ratguide.com/meds/antimicrobial_a
It is important when working with a veterinarian to know they have experience with rat or willing to listen to people who are. Too many veterinarians undermedicate rats treated or not long enough because they are not trained to work with rats in particular.

Most likely he has kennel cough. They usually get when they are young. If this is not something more serious it will pass with time.
It is an infection of the airways, they need to see the vet ... soon.
Rats can not get Kennel Cough or cold.
