I had never made ice cream before, when I got married in 1994, but we got an ice cream maker as a wedding gift, and thus began my foray into the world of ice cream, sorbet, frozen yogurt and decision . After many experiments, I came up with this recipe very tasty ice cream base is good in the perfect texture and flavor.

The recipe makes about a half gallon. Once you get the hang of it, this process goes very quickly. I do it once a week during the summer and on special occasions the rest of the year. The whole family likes.

2 cups milk

¾ cup sugar

1 T. cornstarch

1 / 8 tsp. salt

2 eggs, separated

1 cup whipping cream

Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt in a medium saucepan. Add milk and heat to very hot. Refrigerate the egg whites. Beat the egg yolks. Add one cup hot mixture, stirring constantly. Add all back into the milk mixture and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly to 160 degrees F. Cool for two hours at night. Strain custard. egg whites Beat until stiff peaks form. Whip cream and add the egg whites and cream custard mixture. Freeze in ice cream maker. ripen in the freezer.

These are the directions for the various flavors that I do, all using the same basic recipe above.

French Vanilla: Add a vanilla cream and T. mixture of whipped cream.

Toasted marshmallow: Cutting a little bit of sugar. Add 1 tablespoon tea. vanilla custard mixture. Spread about half a bag of marshmallows in a pan covered with aluminum foil and broil in oven until brown, about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Add ice cream finished, chop and mix in.

Coco: Add ½ tsp tea. vanilla and 2 / 3 c. tea. coconut cream and whipped cream. Add ½ cup of toasted coconut ice cream has finished before ripening.

Cream Pie Banana: mashed two bananas in a blender with some cream and add the mixture to the rest of the ice cream with ½ tsp tea. vanilla. Make about three dozen small disks of pie dough (bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes) and stir the ice cream has finished before ripening.

Watermelon Gelato: Add 1-2 cups watermelon puree, half a 3 oz Watermelon Jello packet, and about 8 drops red food coloring and 2 drops of food coloring whipped cream yellow and cream.

Lemon Cream: Add ½ tsp tea. mixture of vanilla custard and whipped. Add small package instant lemon pudding ice cream has finished before the maturation and stir well.

Orange Spice: Add ¼ cup orange juice concentrate and 1 tablespoon tea. mixture of custard with cinnamon and whipped cream.

Ginger Rum: Add 2 tablespoons tea. rum extract ½ tsp tea. mixture of ginger cream custard and whipped cream.

Pumpkin: add ½ cup canned pumpkin; ½ c. tea. vanilla ¼ c. tea. each cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger, and 1 / 8 c. tea. ground cloves to the whipped cream and cream.

Egg Nog: sugar cut in two. Replace the cream whipped with 1 ½ cups eggnog. Add 1 tablespoon tea. ¼ c. teaspoon vanilla. nutmeg to cream mixture and chicken.

Amaretto: Add 1 c. tea. almond extract whipped cream and cream.

Chocolate Rum: Add some cocoa ¼ cup sugar to the milk before adding to the beginning. Add 2 tablespoons tea. rum extract to the whipped cream and cream.

Chocolate-Banana Marshmallow: Add some cocoa ¼ cups of sugar to the milk before adding to the beginning. Add ½ jar of marshmallow cream, and ½ banana to some of FTA cooled.
